    About Chitwood Farms

    Located between 15th and 33rd street and Post Road in the east Edmond town of Jones, Chitwood Farms is a quiet, gated community that’s easy to love. Within the community lies a 90 acre conservation area and a 15 acre lake. All community members have access to these amenities. The neighborhood features both lots and homes that available for purchase. Each home and lot are at least 1 acre with some lots close to 6 acres.

    The community is managed by a homeowners association. They maintain the community including the lakes and streams in the area. There are no annual dues for the homeowners association, but they do have requirements and rules about building in the community. Feel free to ask about these rules and we are happy to help!     Types of Homes

    As previously mentioned, each lot in the Chitwood Farms neighborhood are situated on lots that range from 1 acre to 6 acres. If you’re looking to purchase a lot, they range in price from $60,000 to $300,00. If you’re looking to purchase a house, they range in price from $400,000 to $750,000. Homes in the area are single-family. They vary in square footage, but most homes are close to 3000 square feet.

    In addition to maintaining the community, the homeowners association also has an architectural committee that approves of any changes to the neighborhood. Any changes to your property must be submitted and will be reviewed and you will be notified within 30 days.

    Utilities

    Although located in Jones, the City of Edmond serves as the water provider for Chitwood Farms, while Edmond Electric serves the community for electricity. All homes and lots have septic systems. Oklahoma Natural Gas (ONG) provides gas service. Although there are no cable options because of the remote location, there are plenty of options for satellite.

    Schools in the Area

    Chitwood Farms has both public and private schools in the area. The public schools are located within the Edmond Public School system and are  Chisholm Elementary School, Cimarron Middle School, and Edmond Memorial High School. Private schools in the area are Oklahoma Christian School and St. Mary’s school in Edmond. The University of Central Oklahoma and Oklahoma Christian University are the universities in the area.

    Medical Access

    There are several medical centers, urgent cares, doctors, and emergency rooms within 10 minutes of Chitwood Farms. These include Integris Health Edmond, Integris Orthopedic, Mercy Convenient Care, and numerous doctors offices.

    Nearby Amenities

    The Chitwood Farms neighborhood has prime access to Lake Arcadia which is just a few minutes away. Lake Arcadia features numerous hiking trails, boating and fishing, camping, and so much more. For some fun and excitement, head south on nearby I-35 to Frontier City. The main amusement park of Oklahoma has roller coasters, water rides, and shows. Frontier City is open April through October of each year.
    If you’re in the mood for shopping and dining, there are plenty of options nearby. The city of Edmond has plenty of opportunities for shopping off of 2nd street, less than 10 minutes away from Chitwood Farms. There are also plenty of dining including fast food, casual, and fine dining. If you’d like to drive a bit further, then head down the Kilpatrick turnpike to Quail Springs plaza for Quail Springs mall and more shopping and dining opportunities.
